My mailbox was damaged during snow removal operations. Does the City repair it?
The city is not responsible for damage to mailboxes incurred during normal snowplowing operations unless it is determined the snowplow made direct contact with a properly installed mailbox. Damage from the weight of snow and ice coming off the plow or damage to a mailbox that does not meet the city's requirements is the responsibility of the property owner. Plastic and decorative mailboxes do not meet the city's requirements. See our mailbox requirements under the Public Works page.
