Red-Headed Woodpecker Day at Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve

Saturday, June 16

Come join project members and fellow bird enthusiasts for hikes behind the fences to see the largest known breeding population of red-headed woodpeckers in Minnesota in their natural habitat! Walking tours to a variety of locations in the oak savanna (including the bison viewing platform) will run during the day, citizen scientists will be on hand to discuss their research and monitoring work, and we'll be working on a day-long bird list. Come learn about this incredible community-driven project and see some woodpeckers! This is a family friendly event. Let us know if you can attend by contacting Caitlin at caitlin@umn.edu at 612-301-2602.
